My first 90 days plan

Days 1-30: Integration, Learning, and Relationship Building

I believe the first month is crucial to understanding the CEO’s leadership style, priorities, rhythm of business, and learning BHN’s global platform. I believe further focus includes listening and earning trust throughout leadership ranks and internal teams.

  • CEO Alignment & "Gatekeeper" Strategy: Establish a rhythm with the CEO to understand her priorities, communication style, and preferences for calendar management and travel. Define the "gatekeeper and gateway" strategy to balance executive access with business needs.

  • Business Immersion: Learn BHN’s core solutions, specifically the recently launched Stored Value Platform and Digital Wallet API. Understand how the tools unify gift cards, loyalty, and refunds to drive consumer engagement.

  • Meeting Audit: Assess CEO calendar for meetings that align to business priorities. Assess all meetings and understand the purpose of each, assign ranking number, then propose to CEO ones that may be deleted, delegated, or reduced recurrence for the outcome to protect her time.

  • Leadership and Internal teams Introduction: Begin relationship building with leadership and internal department heads to facilitate future cross-functional coordination.

  • Technology Assessment: Begin identifying current uses of digital tools and where AI automation exists (and is not present) look for use cases, and quick wins to help streamline scheduling, reporting, and/or processes.

Days 31–60: Operational Excellence and Process Optimization

Focus on implementing efficiencies to reduce the CEO’s administrative burden.

  • AI Implementation: Begin implementation (from 30 day assessment) that builds on the identified scheduling, reports, or processes with digital and AI tools to enhance decision-making and automate routine tasks such as expense reconciliation, leadership reports and briefing materials.

  • Board Liaison Management: Take a lead role in coordinating Board and committee logistics, ensuring the timely distribution of high-quality materials in accordance with governance standards.

  • Meeting Facilitation: Manage the executive meeting cadence, including agendas and follow-ups for all-hands and leadership offsites, to ensure high-impact discussions.

  • Communication Drafting: Assume responsibility for drafting and editing the CEO’s presentations, talking points, and external communications, ensuring they reflect BHN’s status as a global branded payments leader. Meet with comms team to unify messaging and core statements, concepts.

  • Special Project Scoping: Identify and begin scoping a strategic initiative or "special project" at the direction of the CEO, potentially focused on the rollout of new market innovations.

Days 61–90: Strategic Partnership and Measurable Impact

Focus on driving long-term strategic goals and organizational effectiveness. Put in place evaluation measurements.

  • Strategic Research & Analysis: Conduct independent research and analysis on emerging issues in the payments and incentives industry to provide recommendations for executive attention. Discuss any validity in the Competitive Analysis (researched by Tanya Gunderson).

  • Project Execution: Lead the execution phase of special projects, moving from scoping to delivering measurable results.

  • Priority Tracking: Maintain and optimize systems for tracking CEO priorities and action items, ensuring nothing "drops" across global operations spanning 28 countries.

  • Representation & Diplomacy: Act as a high-quality representative of the Office of the CEO in both internal and external settings, maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Performance Review: Evaluate the efficiency gains achieved through AI and process improvements implemented in the first 60 days that demonstrate "measurable results" as requested in the job summary.

  • Future Planning: Partner with the Executive Team on long-term planning for upcoming global events, research releases (such as the NAPCO digital gift card research), and strategic outreach.
